Mathew Knowles, father of singer Beyonce Knowles, has alleged her notable absence from London’s Music of Black Origin Awards was due to event coordinators. AllHipHop.com reported that the “Deja vu” singer’s father has claimed that at no point was his daughter scheduled to appear at the awards, where her name was booed after she won her third MOBO award, and that those behind the event caused the problem.

“Beyonce was never scheduled to be at the MOBO Awards. Never! Her schedule simply would not allow it,” said the elder Knowles, who is also his daughter’s manager. “Fans who paid their money to see Beyonce and other U.S. artists that won multiple awards were frustrated with the MOBO’s after Beyonce was announced three times in the evening in three categories she had won. That’s just bad TV,” he added. “The smart thing would have been to combine all three.”

The Web site said that the hip-hop singer was named as MOBO’s best international female and took home awards for best song and best video for her song, “Deja vu.”
