R&B superstar Beyonc has celebrated her 25th birthday with a performance in Japan. Speaking to 10,000 Japanese fans at Tokyo’s Budokan hall, she said: “Hello. Are you all right tonight? I can’t believe that I”m here with you guys celebrating my 25th B’ day.” The birthday girl sang a number of songs from her latest album - also titled B’day to mark the day - and a medley of Destiny’s Child hits.

Before the encore, her admirers kept screaming “Beyonc” and held up heart-shaped balloons in their hands until she returned to the stage. This was Beyonc’s fifth visit to Japan but the first one as solo artist. At a press conference days earlier, she explained she chose Japan as the place for her birthday party to show gratitude to her Japanese fans.

She said: “I would like to thank to all Japanese fans for all the support, latest support for Destiny child and Beyonc the solo artist for almost nine years. “Each time I am here, I feel so welcomed and I am very grateful that they appreciate what I do because I definitely appreciate all the fans.”
