They came to Macy’s on State Street Thursday armed with cameras, decked out in custom-made Ts like one proclaiming “Beyonce My #1 Dreamgirl,” and clutched CD liners in hopes of nabbing an autograph from the fabulous Miss Knowles. And while they waited for the pop diva to arrive, they grooved to the Grammy Award-winner’s new chart-topping CD, “B’Day.”
Although Beyonce and mom Tina officially stopped by to introduce the nation’s first House of Dereon in-store boutique, fashion didn’t seem foremost on the minds of the 2,000 fans who thronged Macy’s first floor and atrium balconies to glimpse the star. It was all about showing love for their girl, greeting her with popping flashes, huge smiles and ear-piercing, Beatlesque screams.
As promised, here is the video (finally! hehe) of Beyonce and Jay-Z performing Deja Vu at Fashion Rocks 2006. To download it, click on the link below. Enjoy!!

UK pop starlet Jamelia has dissed Beyonce’s new album ‘B-Day’ calling the record too safe.
Apparently Jamelia, who releases her new album ‘Walk With Me’ this week, says she wasn’t impressed at all by the latest effort from the former Destiny’s Child singer. She told the Daily Star: “I heard Beyonce recorded B-Day in two weeks. When you write an album you need to take breaks to re-connect with your self. I’d have liked it if she’d have been more adventurous. I like the single, I do think the album is good. It’s just not great.”
And she wasn’t too happy about the album’s cover art either, saying: “I don’t think the alligators were a good idea. It was cruel.”

I think the key words in this article are “who releases her new album ‘Walk With Me’ this week”. Publicity stunt, anyone? - Jason
Jimmy Kimmel will return as host of the “2006 American Music Awards” for the third time, it was announced on Tuesday. The show will air as a three hour television special on ABC live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on November 21.
Kimmel, the multi-talented TV personality, talk show host, and producer, will take the stage to help hand out twenty American Music Awards representing the best of Pop/Rock, Country, Soul/Rhythm & Blues, Rap/Hip Hop, Latin, Alternative, Adult Contemporary and Contemporary Inspirational music. “I am very happy to have been asked to return as host of the American Music Awards and graciously accept ABC’s apology for snubbing me last year,” said Kimmel.
In addition to his hit late-night talk show, Kimmel was also recently announced as the host of the new ABC game show “Set for Life,” which will premiere later this year. The “2006 American Music Awards” will feature a star studded list of nominees, presenters and performers. Mathew Knowles, father of singer Beyonce Knowles, has alleged her notable absence from London’s Music of Black Origin Awards was due to event coordinators. AllHipHop.com reported that the “Deja vu” singer’s father has claimed that at no point was his daughter scheduled to appear at the awards, where her name was booed after she won her third MOBO award, and that those behind the event caused the problem.
“Beyonce was never scheduled to be at the MOBO Awards. Never! Her schedule simply would not allow it,” said the elder Knowles, who is also his daughter’s manager. “Fans who paid their money to see Beyonce and other U.S. artists that won multiple awards were frustrated with the MOBO’s after Beyonce was announced three times in the evening in three categories she had won. That’s just bad TV,” he added. “The smart thing would have been to combine all three.”
The Web site said that the hip-hop singer was named as MOBO’s best international female and took home awards for best song and best video for her song, “Deja vu.”

Beyonce has told MTV she loved recording angry new track ‘Ring The Alarm’ coz it let her get inside the head of all those peed-off ladies out there. In the track Bey shouts at a fictional philandering boyfriend: “I been through this too long, but I’ll be damned if I see another chick on your arm”.
Talking about the ferocious, near bunny boiler of a track, she said, “It’s about someone who’s kind of gone mad, and is really aggressive and passionate. The one thing I wanted with this album was more passion in things - topics that are honest and real.”
She went on, “This album is a little more innovative than the first and it’s for every woman. I brought in a lot of help so I could write songs about things I might not be going through right now but that other women could say ‘Oh, that’s my life, this is my life. Women need to hear songs that make them feel empowered.”

Fashion Rocks definitely lived up to its name Thursday night (09.07.06) at Radio City Music Hall. As the kickoff event of New York’s Fashion Week, the action in the high-couture audience was as eye-grabbing as the happenings onstage as Beyonc, Christina Aguilera, the Black Eyed Peas, Elton John, Nelly Furtado and others served up brief but exciting performances. The main look for the evening’s ladies paid tribute to jazz singers and legendary musical icons. Beyonc’s performance of “Deja Vu” was billed as “a tribute to Josephine Baker,” and both her stage set and outfit were in homage to the legendary early-20th-century singer/dancer. The set was designed like an old cabaret club, complete with male dancers bearing saxophones, and both B and her female dancers wore Baker’s trademark mini-hula skirt embellished with fake bananas (oh, that’s what those things were! haha - Dustin). The crowd went wild as Jay-Z descended a black staircase, rapping his part of the song while looking sleek in a white tux with black lapels, although he and B didn’t get as much time onstage as the audience evidently would have liked. Well, after 24 hours of non-stop aggravation, I am finally able to let you guys know that comments are back up! You probably noticed that sometime yesterday, the news “disappeared.” We were attacked by comment spammers who post worthless advertisements and overload the news server. Luckily, I have implemented a new system that will hopefully stop this so that it never happens again (lets cross our fingers!). But that means just a TAD bit more work for you guys who like to comment. Now, instead of just hitting the submit button, you must type in a 5-digit code to verify that you are posting a generic comment, and are not just spamming the form. You CANNOT post a comment without typing in the code. If you have any problems with the new system, just e-mail me letting know your issue.
Also, I still have a ton of things that need to be updated around here. I will be posting videos from The View and Fashion Rocks within the next few hours, so look out for those. And if time permits, I will post the photos from the Fashion Rocks show as well! I will probably be playing a nice arousing game of catch-up this week while my homework load is pretty low so that I can get back on track with updates. Good thing I have Jason around here to post recent news articles, or else I don’t know what I’d do! Anyhow, hold tight .. the site will be back to the way it used to VERY soon ;-) Don’t give up on us just yet!!
Jay-Z was joined on stage tonight (September 24) by two special guests, as he played the first of his two London shows this week. Performing in front of a sold out crowd at Wembley Arena, the rapper brought out, Beyonce and Nas during his two hour set.
Introducing his girlfriend, Jay-Z told the crowd “to make some noise for Beyonce Knowles”, as the pair - accompanied by a troupe of dancers - performed ‘Crazy In Love’. The rapper then asked the former Destiny’s Child star if she was finished, to which she replied “no” and launched into recent single ‘Dj vu’ to loud cheers from the audience.
As you all have probably noticed by now, I haven’t been around lately this month. I’m still struggling to get used to my new school schedule, and unfortunately, this site has been left behind in the dust. There are still a ton of things I have to catch up on here, but I’m working on it slowly, but surely. Your patience thoughout this has been appreciated, and by next month, the site WILL be up to date! For now, you can download Beyonce’s appearance on Good Morning America from earlier this month. She performed Deja Vu, Irreplaceable, and Green Light. Check them out below… And credit for the Green Light MPEG goes to our good friends over at Story of Destiny!
