E! Online Reviews Destiny’s Child #1’s Album
Destiny’s Child started out as a duo, doubled in size and then scaled back to a svelte, perfect-fit trio just in time to become the biggest-selling female group of all time. Two things remained constant throughout its career: Irresistible, booty-shaking melodies and Beyonc Knowles’ blazing star power. And it’s all conveniently packaged here, from the time when the band was still finding its feet (”Bug a Boo”) to the swarm of brilliant chart-toppers like “Bootylicious,” “Independent Women Part I” and “Survivor” that came after. And even while the submissive “Cater 2 U” (from the band’s final, tired studio album, Destiny Fulfilled) and the new sappy new add-on “Stand Up for Love” aren’t exactly proven number-one hits, this disc will still get any party jumpin’.
