OK, so only nine of the 16 songs on the new Destiny’s Child compilation “#1’s” (Columbia) actually topped a Billboard magazine chart. For a group that only has released five albums - which sold more than 45 million copies worldwide - that’s still a pretty good showing. “It’s amazing that we’ve gotten this far and how all the hard work has paid off,” says founding member Kelly Rowland. “I never would have imagined all this would happen. But we love what we do, and there’s nothing fake about Destiny’s Child. We just always tried to do something new and refreshing for people.”

The trio split up after its recent “Destiny Fulfilled And Loving It!” tour, so the three new songs on “#1’s” count as the group’s final recordings. But Rowland says she, Beyonce Knowles and Michelle Williams always will be bound by both friendship and the work they did together. “That’s how Destiny’s Child got so far; we’re all secure within ourselves and we support each other and we love each other genuinely,” Rowland says. “We’ll support whatever we do, separately, from here on out, too … just like sisters.”
