A local shoe company, House of Brands, is teaming up with singer Beyonce Knowles and her mother, Tina, to make some “Bootylicious” shoes for the duo’s upcoming fashion line, House of Dereon. While this is the first celebrity client for the company, it has had experience dealing with high-end retailers, having worked with Guess for six years. “[Beyonce] has a very visible name, and there are a lot of pros here and it will bring us a lot of credibility,” said Peyman Mohammadlou, brand director for House of Dereon and a 12-year veteran of the footwear industry. Mohammadlou said he approached Beyond Productions about a licensing agreement. “Last May, I came across a press release that [Beyond Productions] had teamed up with Wear Me Apparel and Kids Headquarters to start a fashion line,” he said. “I sent them a review, and last November, they contacted me and became serious.”
